FCM compliant
The materials should be sufficiently inert so that their components do not have a negative impact on consumer health or food quality. E.g. FDA, REACH, EC 1935/2004, etc.
Smooth inner layer
It is important that the product must be conveyed through the food hose in an undisturbed manner. It must not adhere to the hose wall nor penetrate into its structure. A smooth, non-porous inner layer facilitates cleaning and prevents the medium and other impurities from settling inside the hose.
Resistance to media
Not all food-grade hoses are suitable for all types of food. The hose should be used in accordance with the corresponding certificates and applications recommended by the hose manufacturer. For example milk hose, wine hose, oil and fat hose. If the food reacts with an incorrectly selected hose material, the medium may be contaminated by substances transferred from the hose inner layer due to leaching.
Resistance to cleaning condition
The hose should be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. While type, concentration, temperature and contact time are key factors. It is necessary to check whether the chemical resistance of the hose inner layer is compatible with the cleaning agents used for hose cleaning.
