In modern industrial production, hoses are widely used as pipes for transporting fluids and gases. According to different use environment and requirements, the material of industrial hose is different. Among them, temperature resistance is an important performance index of industrial hose, which directly affects the service life and effect of the hose.
Rubber hose
Natural rubber
The temperature resistance range is usually between -50℃ and 80℃. Natural rubber may deforme and age under high temperature. Therefore, it is not suitable for high temperature environment.
SBR
The max temperature is usually around 120℃. Above this, its mechanical properties and chemical stability will be significantly reduced.
EPDM
It has excellent weather and ozone resistance. Its operating temperature range is usually from -45℃ to 150℃. However, the specific temperature resistance also depends on its formulation and manufacturing process.
Plastic hose
PVC
The temperature range is usually between -15℃ and 60℃. PVC hose tends to soften at high temperatures. So it is not suitable for long-term use in high-temp environments.
PE
Commonly available PE hoses have a temperature range of roughly -40℃ to 60℃. Some specially formulated PE pipes may have higher temperature resistance.
PP
PP materials typically have a higher temperature resistance range. And it can be used in the -20℃ to 100℃. However, prolonged use at high temp may result in a deterioration of its properties.
