High pressure hoses play a vital role in hydraulic systems. And the crimping joint process is also important.
Steps to crimp a hydraulic hose
First, select a hose joint that matches the hose. Before crimping, check if the hose and the inner core of the joint are in place. At the same time, check if the front end of the sleeve enters the annular groove cut on the outer cylindrical surface of the core. In addition, check if the tightness is appropriate. Because too tight will cause the inner hole of the joint core to deform. Then damage the hose. While if too loose, the joint will fall when the hose is under pressure.
Install a suitable crimping mold on the crimping machine. Then place the hose joint to be crimped in the crimping mold. Press the crimping switch until the mold is completely crimped on the hose joint and runs to the position of the parameter table that comes with it. Remember, the hose can not be bent excessively when it is moving or stationary. Besides, it can not be bent at the root. You can bend it at least 1.5 times its diameter to avoid torsional deformation of the hose.
Loosen the crimping mold and take out the hose assembly to check if the crimping marks on the crimping surface are uniform. Use a vernier caliper to measure whether the crimping size is within the range. If necessary, make a pressure test to the hydraulic hose. The test pressure should be 2 times of the working pressure. Then maintain the pressure for 30-60 seconds and there should not be leakage.
