PVC hoses are mainly made of polyvinyl chloride. They’re bright, corrosion-resistant, strong, and durable. But during production, toxic auxiliary materials like plasticizers and anti-aging agents are added. For this reason, they’re not suitable for transporting food or medicine.
A high-quality PVC pipe matters a lot to us. It affects not only costs but also safety. So, how do you tell the quality of PVC hoses?
Everflex is here to share how to identify PVC hose quality
First, check the whiteness and gloss. If too many recycled materials are used in production, the pipes will turn black or yellow. This harms the plastic pipe’s quality and performance. So, you can judge quality just by looking at it.
Second, observe its thickness. Check if the PVC pipe’s wall is even, following the pipe diameter rules.
Then, do a drop test. If your product has high quality requirements, hit the PVC pipe hard to test its toughness. Fragile PVC hoses are usually high-calcium products.
Finally, check its weather resistance. The most direct way is to place the PVC pipe in a high-temperature, high-light environment for a few days. Then, observe how much its surface changes. The smaller the change, the stronger the weather resistance—and the better the quality.

The above are methods to identify PVC hose quality, and we hope they help you. Everflex is an experienced manufacturer of flexible hoses and couplings. What’s more, we offer supporting products like crimping machines and hose protection sleeves. Here, you can get a full range of hoses and the best solutions.
