Braided hoses come in three main types: single head pipes, regular braided hoses, and shower hoses. Additionally, their production processes can be categorized into low, medium, and high grades.
Low-end braided hoses typically use aluminum wire, iron nuts, zinc alloy inner cores, and rubber inner tubes. As a result, these hoses are inexpensive. However, they are of the lowest quality and often suffer from issues like water leakage and oxidation. On the other hand, mid-range braided hoses mainly consist of 304 steel wire, EPDM materials, and all-copper parts. Consequently, they have a service life of more than 5 years. High-end braided hoses, such as water purifier hoses, serve special purposes. For instance, they usually require 304 stainless steel wire, food-grade silicone tubes, and silicone gaskets.
Various Types of Braided Hose
The single-head tube is primarily used for kitchen and bathroom hardware, including faucets and sinks. It gets its name from having external teeth on one end. Specifically, this type of tube needs 304 stainless steel wire, an EPDM inner tube, and all-copper parts. In contrast, shower hoses are made with either 201 or 304 stainless steel wire, an EPDM tube, and all-copper fittings. Moreover, there are also higher-end versions, such as all-copper and gold-plated shower hoses.
Braided hoses are used in drinking water and sanitary equipment systems. Since people directly consume the water that passes through these hoses, the inner tube that contacts the water source is of utmost importance. It must be food-grade. Furthermore, the nation has strict standards regarding this. In Europe, Germany has set even higher requirements for braided pipes. For example, it mandates that the inner pipe undergo a microbial toxicity W270 test. As a result, the original PVC and EPDM materials no longer meet the standard. Currently, the latest inner tube materials in the European market are mainly silicone tubes or PEX-B tubes. Nevertheless, silicone tubes are too costly. Hence, PEX-B tubes are likely to become the future trend in the European market.
