Fitting is the necessary part in a pipeline system. Common used hose fittings include camlock, clamp, adaptor, etc. While this time let me introduce you ferrule type fitting.
Installation method of ferrule type fitting
1. Cut off a suitable length of seamless steel pipe and remove the burrs at the port. The end face of the pipe should be perpendicular to the axis, and the angle tolerance should not be greater than 0.5°. If the pipe needs to be bent, the length of the straight line from the end of the pipe to the bend must not be less than three times the length of the nut.
2 Put the nut and ferrule on the seamless steel pipe. Pay attention to the direction of the nut and ferrule and do not install them backwards.
3 Apply lubricant to the pre-assembled coupling body threads and ferrules. Insert the pipe into the joint body (the pipe must be inserted all the way). Then tighten the nut.
4 Tighten the nut until the ferrule catches the tube. This turning point can be felt by an increase in tightening torque (pressure point).
5 Once the pressure point is reached, tighten the compression nut another 1/2 turn.
6 Remove the pre-assembled connector body. Check the insertion of the cutting edge of the ferrule. The visible raised band must fill the space on the end face of the ferrule. The ferrule can rotate slightly, but cannot move axially.
7. For final installation, apply lubricant to the threads of the joint body in the actual installation. Then tighten the compression nut to match it until the tightening force can be felt increases. Then tighten it 1/2 turn to complete the installation.
Repeat installation
All ferrule fittings can be reinstalled multiple times. But make sure the parts are undamaged and clean.
1 Insert the pipe into the joint body until the ferrule is close to the cone surface of the joint body, and tighten the nut by hand.
2 Use a wrench to tighten the nut until the tightening torque increases sharply. Tighten another 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
