Why PVC suction hose turns flat during use

PVC suction hose is a flexible plastic hose with hard PVC spiral on the surface or inside the tube. It widely serves in agriculture, construction, aquaculture, wasted water treatment and many other industries. While in these fields, it is ideal for water suction and discharge and mining slurry transfer. What’s more, it is ideal for chemical transfer. With high strength and corrosion resistance, it has a long service life. However, there are many problems during the use. While the most common one is the flat problem. What cause PVC suction hose turns flat

First, the raw material

The quality of PVC raw material directly affect the quality of the suction hose. In order to reduce the production cost, some factories may use recycled material or the materials with lots of impurities. Then the hardness, flexibility, pressure resistance and other properties will be reduced. Therefore, once used in a high negative pressure environment, it will be easy to be flat.

Second, the unreasonable production process may cause flat problem

In the production process, the feed speed has a great effect on the quality of PVC hose. If the speed is too high, it may cause flat problem during the production.

Third, the temperature factor

In some cases, people use the suction hose outdoors. Because of the long-term exposure to strong sun light, the high temperature cause the inner molecular structure of PVC change. Then the hose will become soft. On such occasion, one the hose suffer from external pressure or the effect of heavy things, it will be flat.

Fourth, aging problem

If the hose was used or stored for a long time, for example, 5 years, it may age. While if the hose ages, the elasticity, strength, pressure resistance and other properties will be greatly reduced. Therefore, it will not be able to withstand the normal negative pressure. Then the hose will be flat.

Last, external impact or heavy things pressure

During the loading and transportation, there may be heavy goods press on the PVC suction hose. While if the pressure that the goods force the suction hose is greater than the pressure resistance of the hose, it will be flat.
