Corrosion resistance
304SS stainless steel has good corrosion resistance for general environment and most chemicals. However, its corrosion resistance may be challenged in certain specific acidic or saline environments.
316L stainless steel contains molybdenum. Therefore, it has higher resistance to chloride ions and various chemical media. Especially in marine environment and high salinity industrial applications.
Application field
304 stainless steel metal hose is widely used in chemical, petroleum, electric power, machinery and other industries. It is used to transmit water, oil, gas and other media. Due to its good comprehensive performance, it is also commonly used in kitchen utensils, food processing equipment and other fields.
316L stainless steel metal hose is often used in occasions with higher material requirements due to its excellent corrosion resistance and strength. Such as pipeline connection of chemical equipment, conveying system of pharmaceutical equipment, marine engineering, etc.
Physical properties
Both have high strength and toughness. But 316L stainless steel may have higher strength and better heat resistance due to the increase of alloying elements. In high temperature environment, the oxidation resistance and creep resistance of 316L stainless steel are generally better than 304.
