Hose is one of the most used materials in our daily life and industrial production. In agriculture, we need PVC discharge hose to deliver water and need spray hose for pesticide control. While in electronic and metal industry, we need antistatic hoses and high temperature resistant hoses. But no matter we need which hose, the quality is always important. Then how can a hose be regarded as a high quality one? In fact, before being put into market, the hose will experience various tests. While if the flexible hose passes these tests, it can be a good quality one.
For air hose, it requires high airtight test. But for high pressure hoses, for example, hydraulic hose, they require strict pressure test. While for chemical hose, it requires high corrosion resistant test. But no matter which kind of hose, it requires pressure test.
How to make a pressure test
Pressure test belongs to the safety performance test. The test pressure is 1.5 times the nominal pressure. The test pressurized medium is pure water. The chloride ion content should not exceed 25ppm. Each product is subjected to a pressure test. Pressure is applied by a manual or electric pressure test pump. Pressure observation can usually use a pressure gauge 1.5 or above. 1.5 to 4 times the test pressure range, or an equivalent pressure test instrument. During the test, the hose test piece is placed straight. A plug with an exhaust valve is installed at one end, and the other end is connected to the test pump outlet pipe. Water is injected into the tube, the air is exhausted, and the exhaust valve is closed. Then slowly increase the pressure to the specified test pressure value. After 5 minutes, check the state of the sample and whether there are abnormal forms such as leakage and part damage. Qualified products require that abnormal forms of failure are not allowed. Such as signs of leakage or part damage.
