PE PA and PP corrugated hose look the same but quite different from each other
In the production and daily life, we often need layflat hoses to transfer water. Normally there are three kinds of layflat hose. They are PVC layflat hose, rubber lined layflat hose and PU lined layflat hose respectively. This piece let’s learn the differences among them.
Material and structure
PVC layflat hose has PVC inner tube and cover with a polyester yarn braid. The rubber lined layflat hose has a high strength synthetic fibre braid cover and a rubber lining. While the PU lined layflat hose has a polyurethane lining.
Characteristics
PVC layflat hose
It’s lightweight and flexible with corrosion and aging resistance. Besides, it can be coiled in a wheel. Therefore, it’s easy to use and recycle.
Rubber lined layflat hose
It’s also lightweight and flexible. However, it has better corrosion and abrasion resistance. Compared with PVC layflat hose, it has longer service life.
PU layflat hose
PU layflat hose has both the advantages of PVC hose and the advantages of rubber hose. It has great properties and the first one is high strength. It’s tearing resistance is about 3 times than the natural rubber. Second is excellent oil resistance. It will not react with any oils. Besides, it will not corroded by the oil. Third is the temperature resistance. It can work in a wide temperature range from -50℃to 80℃.
Application
PVC layflat hose is suitable for agricultural applications to irrigate. It’s also apply for construction and water transfer.
Rubber lined layflat hose is ideal for firefighting. You can also see it in mining, marine, petroleum and chemical industries.
PU lined layflat hose can be used in water project and landscape engineering besides above applications. However, it’s most suitable for firefighting.
