The performance of rubber steam hoses in different environments will be affected by many factors. Including temperature, chemical erosion, etc.
High temperature environment
High temperature resistance is one of the important characteristics of rubber steam hoses. For example, EPDM and silicone rubber have good high temperature resistance. They can maintain elasticity and sealing at higher temperatures. Therefore, they are suitable for the transportation of high-temperature steam.
In high temperature environments, rubber materials may undergo thermal aging, resulting in performance degradation. Therefore, the selection of rubber materials with excellent heat aging resistance is essential to ensure the long-term stable operation of the hose at high temperatures.
Chemical erosion environment
Rubber steam hoses need to have excellent corrosion resistance in certain chemical erosion environments. EPDM rubber has good resistance to erosion by chemicals such as acids, alkalis, and salts. Therefore, it is suitable for steam transportation in corrosive occasions.
Fluororubber and perfluoroether rubber are also synthetic rubbers with excellent corrosion resistance. They can maintain stable performance in harsh environments such as strong acids and alkalis.
